Real Estate in the Time of COVID-19

By now you’ve probably seen every single company you follow on social media release something about their policy regarding COVID-19. Rest assured that our vidtographers are taking every precaution possible when capturing the media of your listings. But as a real estate agent, what can you do to protect yourself, and your clients, during this time?

How to Protect Yourself

The CDC has guidelines for everyone to follow, including best hand washing practices, disinfecting strategies, what to do if you’re sick and ways to practice social distancing. Limiting your time spent with other people, especially in close proximity, is the best way to prevent the spread.

Working With Your Clients

The National Association of Realtors® also has specific recommendations for agents and brokers during this time. One such recommendation is using alternative means to show the home, rather than open houses and private showings. This could include interactive tours, video and/or photographs.

How Video Can Help

High quality video tours and photography can help your listing any day of the week, but even more so when there’s a public health threat. Video tours can be used to give potential buyers a look at the house and a good idea of the floorplan before every setting foot in the home. This means better, more qualified leads and fewer walkthroughs. During the COVID-19 outbreak, this means you may never have to do an open house, which could lead to more than 10 people (the gathering limit proposed by President Trump for the next two weeks).
